allow anyone to remove their telephone number from the database
that is linked to this mapping feature?
One positive use of this feature could be to determine the location of a party for whom you may only have a phone number. On a negative note, this feature could also be used by people you do not want having your personal information or showing up at your door.
Google has now made available an option that will allow anyone to remove their telephone number from the database linked to the mapping feature. If you or someone you know is interested in removing themselves from this feature please forward and follow the instructions provided below.
You will first need to check if your number is listed in the Google database by attempting a search.
3 Easy Steps to Search Your Number
-
1. Go to www.google.com.
2. Enter your full telephone number separated by dashes (i.e. 404-524-5811). If the number appears in the mapping database, an icon resembling a telephone will appear next to the first or second entry on the results page.
3. Clicking on this icon will take you to a page containing a description of the service, and a link to request your number be removed form the database.

Tip of the Month
To ensure a safe and happy 2003, here is the "around-the-house" safety tip that homeowners can resolve to follow this month:- May: Fence in your pool. With Memorial Day marking the beginning of swimming pool season, ensure the safety of your family and neighbors by installing a tall fence with a locked gate around your swimming pool.
